What a weekend... THANK YOU to all those who came to celebrate with us. And for those who couldnt be there, we felt you in spirit. The opening was fantastic, what a diverse group of artists and interpretations on Beautiful Bodies. Truly amazing. And to those who traveled a distance for it, an EXTRA big thank you to you...what an honor. If you'd still like to see it, and release some things from your giant heart, the show is open through October 31st (weekdays only). Tim's celebration afterwards was very warm & cozy and your generosity overwhelmed us. Saturday we high-tailed it to Minnesota to make it to a very old friend's surprise 60th party on Saturday then home by Sunday night. Totally worth the trip as Scott said Tim was the BEST part of the surprise. The entire weekend was a much needed fun mental getaway for us both... plus Tim finally got his limited edition 1965 moon watch (only in stores) when we made a trip to the Swatch store at MoA. It was fun.
Today (10/14), we just returned from another trip to Froedert Breast Care Center and got the details on the sugery scheduled for next Wednesday, October 22nd. It is outpatient and seems like something I can totally handle. I opted for a full right mastectomy with no reconstruction. A once and done type of thing. Safe to say we are both pretty ready for this crazy ride to slow down for now. Tim has been by my side at absolutely every appoinment... taking notes, asking good questions and rubbing by back as needed. I am the luckiest. Aside from this, I have one more pre-op appointment on Friday and then my Primary Dr still scheduled a PET scan even though it was not considered necessary by Froedert. I'm ok with it, so that's Monday the 20th. It will just give the clearest picture of my entire body. Good to have a baseline.
So there you have it. I'll be home a few hours after the surgery so I can cozy up for a few weeks of R&R at home. Probably 4 weeks total recovery time but they encourage staying semi-active through it all as well. (nothing vigorous such as toilet scrubbing or litter box scooping, sorry Tim ;) but I'm ok with that too. I'll be pausing work for a while as well even tho it is usually "the busy season." There will be plenty of time to catch up on life in 2026. Oh and Mason took a week between jobs and will be starting his new full time (adultish) job on October 27th, so he'll be around to lend a hand next week as well. Thanks again for all the texts, calls and visits. Please continue to send all your sparkly energy, love and support over the coming weeks! I'll take whatever you give and I can truly feel it. Love you all dearly xxm
